Gemini new moon meets my Cancer/Gemini placements + some ATR lore!
And finding synchronicities and meaning for the self amongst it all
👀… SO, therapy work has highlighted the crab populated waterways of my life this week. And what surfaced for this Sun/Moon/Mercury Cancer WAS I have been fighting the flow, and, specifically, how opportunity and PEOPLE flow towards me. This crab will fight anything that stanks of transaction or disingenuity towards intentional connection.
But when I think about crabs as a creature I interact with and consume (versus other sea life), they are a creature that others go to seek out. They (generalizing) aren’t like salmon or other water life that has seasons or migrates… where they come to meet us in the shallows (excluding tides).
NO. If you wanna crab, you gon’ havto go see abouta crab at the bottom of the sea! (a few other places, too). The crab catchers gotta go to the bottUM of the ocean to find what they are looking for. You know who else is at the bottom of the sea? Our mother, Olokun.
Olokun is a concept, is an orisha that I felt connected to and curious about since the beginning of my ATR journey in 2021, a journey that began with the lwa pantheon of Ezili in Omise'eke Natasha Tinsley’s Ezili's Mirrors: Imagining Black Queer Genders (gosh, i miss that book).
How does all this relate to my understanding of Olokun?
