what would you give to get that thing back?
short responses to questions asked and unasked hiding in my notes app
Hope. I’d like to get a lotta hope back, to bring hope back. And I think what I would give is already being asked of me. To have more time, I’d give my phone.
Where are you going? you’d die for it sure, but would you kill?
BLACK EPHEMERA MATTERS: “self-liberation of the mind through an understanding of personal and collective stories, a reclamation of language through self-articulation”
Repeat to myself today:
Black Ephemera Matters
Black Ephemera Matters
Black Ephemera Matters
SO what is my ethos bout how to care for Black Ephemera? How can I develop that outside of an institution and is it really necessary for an archival degree to tell me how to care for my grandmother’s bible, for other grandma’s bibles, etc? What if I did archive studies in another country? I don’t want to leave my family here though. I read something the other day, an article titled something like, “you’d die for it sure, but would you kill?” The nation is at war with us, I have the freedom to go but also the fear of, if things get real bad and everyone is destroyed, would I rather have been destroyed alongside them? No one wants the situation that brings about the becoming of an avenging angel.
